Europe in Synch
Researcher, 2022-2025
“Europe in Synch” is a cooperation project of eight European organisations and companies with the aim of connecting creatives from the audiovisual industries and arts, particularly by offering know-how in the quickly developing fields of synchronization, music licensing and music supervision. EinS wants to establish new networks and a better understanding of the needs and opportunities of the different industries that work with (licensed) music. Europe in Synch is co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme.
My role in the project is to conduct research and analysis on synch licensing practices in Europe and create a glossary of terms and concepts that would be sensitive to the European copyright regime context. I work on the project reports with Alice Kattago. Currently, a version of the glossary is live at the website and the first country report on Estonia is published. A country report on Denmark is in the works and a report “Music in games” will be created in 2025.
